        Allows DOT to enter into cost-containment contracts
        with private developers for public improvements that
        cost up to $2,000,000 without legislative approval.
        Allows DOT to enter into such contracts up to
        $5,000,000 with legislative approval. (Kawamoto)

SB 2303    RELATING TO HARBORS                            TIA,WAM
        Transfers certain PSC taxes to the harbor special fund
        for the improvement of cruise ship facilities.

SB 2143    RELATING TO PUBLIC LANDS                       TIA,WAM
        Authorizes the development of a heliport on the
        Olowalu Sanitary Landfill site to service the West
        Maui area. (Buen, Kawamoto)

SB 2966    RELATING TO TRANSPORTATION                     TIA,WAM
        Appropriates funds to match federal moneys for a
        feasibility study to determine alternate traffic
        solutions to service the West Maui area. (Buen,

SB 1369    RELATING TO COUNTY EXEMPTION TO THE STATE      TIA,JDC
        STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS
        Amends definition of State to exclude any county or
        municipality of the State for purposes of allowing
        plaintiffs to notify a county of injuries received
        upon any street, sidewalk and other public place and
        confirms the 6-month statute of limitation for actions

SB 2308    RELATING TO TAXATION                           TIA,WAM
        Authorizes the reimbursement of general excise tax
        (GET) amounts to counties for GET passed on to the
        counties. (Kawamoto)

SB 3104    RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES                     TIA,WAM
        Provides for the distribution of the monetary
        assessments for motor vehicle violations to the
        counties. (Mizuguchi(BR))

SB 2223    RELATING TO METROPOLITAN PLANNING              TIA,WAM
        Creates a metropolitan planning organization in
        counties with population of over 100,000. (Chumbley,
        Tanaka)

        Limits government landowner liability by amending
        definition of "land" to include government owned

        Requires State to pay an amount equivalent to the pro
        rata share of ceded land revenues obtained from the
        Honolulu International Airport to the Office of

SB 2551    RELATING TO THE LAND USE COMMISSION        WLH/TIA,WAM
        Increases the threshold for land use boundary changes
        under the land use commission from 15 to 50 acres.

SB 2554    MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR IMPROVEMENTS   WLH/TIA,WAM
        TO THE KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD ON THE ISLAND OF HAWAII
        Appropriates funds to improve access from the Kohala
        Mountain Road to the state highway. (Tanaka)

SB 2844    RELATING TO THE HAWAIIAN HOMES COMMISSION  WLH/TIA,WAM
        ACT, 1920, AS AMENDED.
        Allows the DHHL to license infrastructure improvements
        to Hawaiian Home Lands to the counties for operations
        and maintenance purposes. (Mizuguchi(BR))

hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less
than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at

least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

shared use by members of the public.
